I have to say I am astionished by there clarity and that the bass is not muffled like some headphones that I have used there made with good quality and are study. If your new to choosing headphones that you will love and depend on for a long time. You may want to consider these I know a litle expesive for non-audiophile on a budget save your money for these they way better then any sony I have heard.i was a little skeptical at first thinking are they worth it there just right pwerful but non muffleing bass clear audio and good materials. main point is get then save your money if you have too nuff said get them if you dont want to spend 300 on eaqualy good headphones i litterly tried the beats but there are a bit lacking all round it all just big bass but these have a little less bass in trade of way better sound quality. 4.0 out of 5 stars 449 review, January 24, 2012

My main purchase for these was for speech audio, i.e. lectures, youtube, trainings, etc. I also listen to a great deal of audio so I was hoping for a set of headphones which had overall decent sound. I already have a set of HD595's but wanted a set of closed headphones too so I wasn't leaking sound to people near me. The overall build is decent for the money. Could use a little thicker wirer and the pads get a bit warm, but they do a good job of keeping the sound in and blocking outside noise. I broke these in for 4 hours or so before listening.

First thing I noticed is that the bass has much more presence then my HD595's. Any more bass and it would be too much. The highs seem very good and detailed, but the mids seem slightly recessed and not very rich. Could just be a personal preference. Lastly, the sound seems kinda of smaller and more focused, unlike my HD595's which seems to have a more expansive sound while still very well focused.

A lot of review... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Pure Clarity, but some downsides...., January 20, 2012

Great pair of headphones but I should have went with the ATH-M50's in my opinion. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it definitely isn't better than Beats by Dre Studios or Bose QC's. A bit disappointing; however, it is still much cheaper than either one of them. I may buy an amp to boost performance and volume.

Pros:
Stylish
Lightweight
Comfortable
EXTREMELY Clear
Stays true to the music
Isolates noise decently well

Cons:
Feels a little cheap (but does not look cheap)
Mediocre Bass
Not a big deal but it leaks a little bit once the volume gets over 75%
